Aloha! Well Jackie and I have been enjoying another great day here on Kauai. We started the morning off watching a little Nascar along with keeping up with a couple of NFL games. Both the race and the football games were over by 11 so Jackie and I had the whole afternoon to play at the beach. We went to Kalihiwai and just kicked back. We had intended to play in the surf but we forgot our towels so we sat our chairs up in the shade and just watched. The weather was great...about 85 with a slight breeze. We strolled down the beach and talked story with two older women who were visiting...one from Idaho, the other from Texas. I think Jackie and I have talked with people from all fifty states and most of the major countries while we have been here. We always find it interesting and try to make their visit more enjoyable if we can. We can usually give them a little inside info about the better places to snorkel and eat! After we left the beach we drove out by the lighthouse as we haven't been out that way for awhile. We didn't drive all the way down to the lighthouse, just to the lookout on top. The view from there is really nice, much better than the photos. For some reason I have never been able to take a picture from there that does justice to the view! The first photo is of a sign located at the view point. The next two photos were shot from the view point and the last photo is of a male boxfish. It was taken at Anini.

The pictures are awesome. I can't wait to actually be there in person to experience the snorkeling and the Island has to offer. The hard part is trying to decide how many days to stay. Take care, hope to see you guys in January.
Jackie and I retired in October of 2006. Jackie after 15 years as a veterinary technician for Prosser Animal Hospital, Carl after 30 years as a leadman for Kenyon Zero Storage. Our last day on the job was on a Friday and we were on the plane heading to Kauai Saturday.

Sorry, I'm the anonymous. I hit the wrong button.
