ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE
Aloha! Well Jackie and I have been enjoying another awesome day here on Kauai. The weather has been great and we have had a very laid back day. We did make it to the post office to check the mail and thought we should go on into Princeville to pick up a few groceries while we were out but that's about as close as we got to anything today that might be considered work
. Now Jackie might tell you a different story as she fixed a wonderful dinner...roast with all the trimmings along with washing a load or two of our dirty clothes plus straightening up our little studio so I wouldn't be surprised if she replaces the we's with a few I's when she corrects this as she might not think her day was as laid back as mine! Jackie and I are hoping to get back in the water tomorrow as its been a few days since we have gone. Think we will go to Anini as there is a small swell on the south shore and Tunnels is always packed unless you get an early start! The first photo is of an ulua. It was shot at Anini. The next two photos are of a cornetfish. Both photos are of the same fish. In the first one that is how they look normally and the second shows how they change colors and their bands become more pronounced when they are alarmed. It is amazing how fast they can change...it doesn't even take a second! The last photo is of a couple of pigs. It was taken last winter in our front yard. There were three of these little guys that kept hanging around. They would show up about dark and stick around for a couple of hours almost every night. They became tame enough that they were eating tortillas out of our neighbors hands. They thought it was a kick until I asked them what they were going to do when these guys weighted about 200 pounds and had their tusks and the only thing between them and the pigs was their screen door? After that they didn't think having pigs so used to humans was such a good idea! The neighbor up the road took care of this problem for us though as we saw three pigs that looked a lot like these in a pen awaiting an invitation to a luau!
