ANINI AND PK'S

Aloha! Well we have had a beautiful day here in Kauai...85 with light trade winds and patchy clouds. Wish it was where we could send some of this weather to the gulf coast as it looks like they are going to be battling with their weather for a while. At least it hasn't been as bad as predicted but with two more hurricanes on the way and Gustav hanging tuff looks like some of our kinfolks might be getting a little wet and wind blown. Just hope they can avoid the tornadoes. Its one thing if you get caught up in a hurricane as the weathermen can give you a pretty good idea of when and where its going to make landfall but the tornadoes can hit with little warning and hundreds of miles from the hurricane so if any of you are looking to escape that mess sure Jackie and I can find a spot for you on Kauai. Jackie and I have both spent most of the day inside...me watching the news and Jackie talking on the phone. She had a nice visit with Kristi this morning and with her former boss Mary this afternoon. We always love to catch up on whats happening at home. I'm just thankful that Jackie doesn't mind to talk on the phone as thats not one of my favorite things to do...its right up there with going to the dentist! The first photo was taken at Anini Beach. It's of two threadfins...these guys are strongly paired and will normally chase any other threadfins out of their territory on the reef. The second photo is of Mr. Honu. It was taken at Anini Beach also. Jackie and I will be having words with him about his antisocial behavior during Judy's visit! The next photo is of a yellowtail coris. It was taken at PK's Beach. This photo captures the intense colors on this fish and shows the green lines on its face pretty well. The last photo was shot at Pk's as well. It shows a school of convict tangs with a few unicornfish and ringtail surgeonfish mixed in.
