This video is of a snowflake moray. These eels seem pretty mellow. They will watch you when you swim past but we have never felt threatened by them. The first time we encountered a whitemouth moray it was a different story. We saw one in the coral with just his head sticking out and his mouth opening and closing and the first thing we thought was...well, better not say what the first thing was but we didn't stick around to find out if he was friendly or not! It wasn't until we did a little research that we found out that the whitemouth needs to open and close his mouth to force water over his gills. All he was doing was breathing! Sure made subsequent trips into the water easier as there are a lot of whitemouth eels at Anini. We have some video of them that we will try to post if I can find it.
