Aloha! Well Jackie and I have had a very relaxing day. Jackie went out and caught up on the garden while I stayed in and posted a few things on the blog. Of course, that was during the commercials as we had to watch all the college football we could squeeze in! We talked to Jaynee this morning and she told us that Jerry and Zack had gone to Quest Field to watch the Washington State/Oklahoma State game with Zack's friend Blake. I know that Blake is a huge WSU fan and Jerry and Zack are huge fans of any team that WSU is playing so we're pretty sure that Blake had to listen to those two crow all the way home about WSU's poor performance. Of course Blake is a pretty good sized boy and if the crowing got too intense I wouldn't be surprized if Jerry and Zack don't have some fresh lumps! We will have to call Jaynee later and see if they made it back without too much bruising! We barbequed hamburgers for lunch and talked story with Cory until he had to leave for work at 2. We hadn't had a chance to talk with him much the last couple of days as we were gone early and home late trying to spend as much time with Judy and the girls as we could. About the only thing left on our agenda for today is the Nationwide race. It starts at 4 here so we will watch that and eat a little supper and hopefully get to bed early. The first photo is of the Makaweli post office. It is on the south shore and Jackie comments about how cute it is every time we drive past it. The second photo is of a flower arrangement that Jackie put together. Alex's mother has a anthurium farm on the Big Island and Alex brought back a huge bunch of flowers for Jackie. He had been to his moms for a short visit and returned on Saturday. The next photo is of a metal sign that was hanging in the antique store in Hanalei and the last photo is of the Kauai chickens. Judy sure got a kick out of our chickens and now she knows what we mean when we say they are everywhere!
Sounds like you had an interesting day. Jackie is right about the post office, it is cute. Thanks for sharing the pictures and sharing your day with me. I look forward to seeing your blog every day.
Jackie and I retired in October of 2006. Jackie after 15 years as a veterinary technician for Prosser Animal Hospital, Carl after 30 years as a leadman for Kenyon Zero Storage. Our last day on the job was on a Friday and we were on the plane heading to Kauai Saturday.
