Lazy day

Aloha from Kauai! Well, Jackie and I have had a very lazy day. We started the day with the best intentions but just couldn't seem to motivate ourselves to leave the house. The weather was perfect so can't even use that for an excuse! Guess that's just one of the hazards of being retired...it is very easy to put things off until tomorrow. Course Jackie will tell you I have always had that problem! The picture of Jackie and I walking was taken just down the trail from Pu'u o lookout and the view of the ocean is from that same lookout. This is as far as you can drive up Waimea Canyon. Waimea Canyon is one of the things we would recommend that everyone do if they visit Kauai. It is very much like the Grand Canyon except you have these great views of the Pacific out the other side of your car window. The picture of Jackie at the beach was taken at Kalihiwai beach. It is about 4 miles from our house and is where we go to play in the surf. The last picture was taken at Ke'e beach. This beach is about 20 miles from our house and as far as the road goes on the north shore. It is where the Napali coast starts and also the start of the Kalalau trail. We have read where this trail is the most famous hike in Hawaii but as its about 11 miles long and all hills and requires an overnight camping permit Jackie and I will leave it to our more adventurous friends and family to discover on their own! Well better let you go. I think Jackie is hoping to whip me in another game of dominos!
