Aloha! The weather on Kauai has definitely improved! It was nice enough this morning for Jackie and I to get back in the water. We headed to Anini around 10 and it was close to 1 before we returned home. The wind was still blowing a bit more than we like but we managed to find a spot that offered a little protection and snorkeled anyway. We had a good snorkel...nothing as spectacular as what we found on Monday but you can't expect to have days like that every time! We did run across a gurnard and a stripebelly puffer along with all our other friends. We spent the majority of our time out near the buoy. This is where we ran across the ray on Monday and we were hoping to do the same today but no such luck. It was fun looking anyway and we did swim with what must have been 20 cornetfish. These guys are almost always out near the buoy and it is kind of cool swimming with them all around you. They don't seem to be worried about us at all and will let you swim pretty close before they move out of the way. The weather this evening is great. The winds have died down to almost nothing and our weather guys say we can expect the same for at least a day or two. Jackie and I are barbequing tonight as well as watching the Mariners put a hurting on the Angels. Ichiro just hit a grandslam to put an exclamation point on an inning that saw Junior homer as well! The score is now 11 to 3 with the Angels batting in the 8th. I think it will be safe fo me to start the grill but it is the Mariners we are talking about...
